Since it was founded, IPDAE has operated in a rented space. Donations, financial support by cultural institutions and fund-raising campaigns have guaranteed the maintenance of the Institute. The entire community has played an important role for its setting during the past 10 years. The number of visitors has noticeably increased year after year due to the wide range of our services.
Since the Institute’s current physical space became inadequate, a larger complex was made necessary so that more people could participate in this project. Located at 8245 João de Oliveira Remião Road, 20th Bus stop, Lomba do Pinheiro District, the new Headquarters is to cover an area of 1,098 m², including an auditorium, study rooms, areas for reading and the storage of books/toys, and the Institution’s administration offices.
Set in a region of dense vegetation, the project takes advantage of the peacefulness of nature to create a delightful environment for reading and studying – activities that demands concentration – with open spaces that bring nature and visitors together. The natural stone and wood-based building guarantees a cozy interior design, while its outside matches perfectly with the landscape.
We plan to remodel the front area of the building, creating a leisure area for reading and outdoor activities – another achievement for the community.
The remodeling project is signed by the architects Alessandra Alves, Carolina Nuernberg and Daniela Zoppas.
