IPDAE is a community organisation that gives access to literature, music, and art as means of personal development.
IPDAE is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization of civil society. Founded in April 1998, it is located in Lomba do Pinheiro district, Porto Alegre, Brazil.
IPDAE supports the Leverdógil de Freitas Library – comprising a Main Library and a branch –, the Music School, the Lomba do Pinheiro Community Museum, and the Memorial of the Remião Family.
Besides the loan of books, the Leverdógil de Freitas Library offers multiple programs for promoting reading, such as: Storytelling, Reading Workshops, Readers of the Year, Hanging Poetry, and Short Story Contest.
The Lomba do Pinheiro Community Museum and the Memorial of the Remião Family promote activities of both cultural and environmental education.
The Music School offers free courses in recorder, flute, violin, viola, cello, Music Theory, and supports both the Children’s Choir and the IPDAE Youth Orchestra.
